Careers and PR images

An excerpt from a commission for a large organisation to promote successful young people moving into careers. The aim was to hit a specific target audience whilst making images that could be applied to various PR and marketing material (in print and online).

In my CSI, cheerleaders die.

A series of images from my commission for Staffordshire University. The brief called for me to inject some diversity and humour into the PR campaign in a contemporary style. Of the many works completed, this was my personal favourite, a series combining the cheerleading society and the Forensic Science degree course, both offered by the University.

Frank Miller inspired Photo conversion

Based on the work of Frank Miller in his comic, I took inspiration to convert this photograph into a comic cell styled image. I'm very happy with the end result, the bird really added to the composition.

Grimwear, (the collaborative genius of two Liverpool animators) will soon be launching their range of original clothing. I have been drafted in as photographer to bring you and the world the first pictures of their designs along with marketing and advertising.

Post-apoc landscape concept

Becoming sick of seeing endless photographs of trees and foliage that did little to interest me, I set about creating my own take on nature. From the context of 'The Evac' series, this idea was born.

Fan of the early morning

Recently I found myself relatively nocturnal and no stranger to the sunrise. Dawn is an empty and peaceful place and it is intriguing to see everything in the world pick up around you as you take in and photograph your surroundings.

The Evac

This series is based upon a concept of an adult leading a child to safety through a post apocalyptic/war struck environment. I was looking to create the feeling through images of the lost history, the fear and darkness of the circumstances and the child's innocence, I feel this is best felt in the top image where I have used the tunnel walls, the lighting and the existing wall art to create a daytime landscape within the darkened tunnel. I used the light to create a light shape upon the tunnels of angel wings, a sign of the adults positive intentions and guardian angel status. The child is not present in the images as we see from their point of view, through the breathing mask and lower viewpoint.

Drew G - Promotional images

I was approached by hip hop dance instructor and animator Drew G to create promotional images to help promote his work. Using a combination of hip hop style photographs and some experimentation we created many interesting images, the one below being a personal favourite.
